Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson, who was named a Pro Bowler earlier this week for the fourth time in four seasons with the team, got his 15th sack of the season in the first quarter of the Week 18 NFL game against the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Top of the Season Acrisure Stadium.

He added his league-leading 16th and 17th sacks in the fourth quarter.

Hendrickson entered Week 18 tied with Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns and tied for the NFL lead in sacks with 14. Garrett went without a sack earlier in the day against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Bengals were without defensive end Sam Hubbard, who injured his knee while catching his first NFL touchdown against the Titans. Myles Murphy started in Hubbard’s absence.

Hendrickson, in his ninth NFL season and his fifth with the Bengals, was penalized for unnecessary roughness for pushing Tennessee quarterback Will Levis to the ground after Cam Taylor-Britt Levis in the second quarter of their Week 15 NFL game in the Nissan Stadium had intercepted.

Hendrickson appeared angry about his rough attack on Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert during Cincinnati’s Week 11 NFL loss.

Hendrickson had four sacks in a Week 9 NFL win over the Las Vegas Raiders to tie for the NFL lead with 11 sacks.

Hendrickson suffered a neck injury in the fourth quarter of Cincinnati’s Week 4 game against the Carolina Panthers.

Hendrickson had a career-best performance last season with 17.5 sacks. He was named a Pro Bowler in each of the last three seasons.
