Trojans Wire editor reveals why USC fans are angry ahead of UCLA matchup

UCLA facing USC in a rivalry game is a reminder that both teams haven’t had the best seasons.

The Bruins were expected to have a difficult transition with DeShaun Foster and a move to the Big Ten, but USC’s expectations were much higher than its current 5-5 record.

Matt Zemek of Trojans Wire answered the question everyone is asking: How angry are USC fans?

“UCLA fans can guess, but the short answer is that it is as bad as you would expect,” Zemek said. “USC fans are sick of Lincoln Riley, and frankly, they should be. How can Trojans fans not be very disappointed with what they saw? Clearly, Lincoln Riley didn’t equip the roster well enough to compensate for the loss of Caleb Williams. There’s a reason Caleb was the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft. This doesn’t happen by chance. The Trojans needed a supporting cast that would give Miller Moss the best possible chance to succeed, and the truth is they didn’t have the elite roster to surround Moss. It’s true that Moss made some mistakes, but many of them were due to the offensive line’s failure to protect Moss in critical moments against Michigan and Minnesota.”

If USC loses to UCLA and risks not playing in a bowl game, things could get ugly for the Trojans.
