Trump advisor Alex Bruesewitz collapses on stage during a speech at the Young Republicans Gala

An adviser to President-elect Trump’s campaign team, Alex Bruesewitz, fainted and collapsed while speaking on stage during a New York Young Republican Club gala on Sunday evening.

Bruesewitz, 27, was introducing new White House senior adviser Dan Scavino at a Manhattan venue when he stumbled over his words and fainted, a video on social media shows.

After his collapse, several people quickly rushed to his aid. It wasn’t immediately clear what caused him to faint.

Master of ceremonies Raheem Kassam, also a former adviser to British conservative politician Nigel Farage, later assured the audience that Bruesewitz was fine backstage and that he even asked if he looked “cool” as he passed out.

“I spoke to our friend Alex Bruesewitz and do you know what he said to me? He asks, ‘Did I at least look cool?’ I said, ‘Alex, you used gravity like I’ve never seen anyone use gravity before in their life,'” Kassam said. “But he’s recovering back there, so cheer him loudly so he can hear you.”

According to the New York Post, Trump also said after the collapse that he believed Bruesewitz would be fine.

“I know Alex is going to be OK because he’s a tough guy,” Trump said. “There is no doubt about that. So I want to say hello to Alex because he’s a very special guy.”
