President-elect Donald Trump has announced he will attend the Fox Nation Patriot Awards event in New York on Thursday to accept the Fox Patriot of the Year award, just a few years after he sought to overturn the results of the election to overturn 2020.

“I am very excited to be attending the Fox (Nation) Patriot Awards hosted by Sean Hannity on Thursday evening in New York. I will be receiving the Fox Patriot of the Year Award – so nice! See you there,” Trump beamed on Truth Social on Tuesday evening.

The awards show will be hosted by Fox for the sixth time and will be broadcast live on Fox Nation.

Hannity took over the role of host of the event after Pete Hegseth left the network to become Trump’s nominee for defense secretary.

Fox Nation has more than two million subscribers and was the first streaming service launched by one of the three major cable news networks. Mediait noted.

Hegseth’s nomination is now in trouble as he is accused of sexual assault and other mistreatment of women and appears to be struggling with alcohol. Trump is considering replacing him with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to multiple news outlets.

According to CNN, DeSantis has reportedly expressed interest in leading the Pentagon if asked.

Hegseth told CBS on Wednesday that he spoke with Trump “this morning.” He said keep going, keep fighting. I have your back the whole time.”

“Why should I back out? I’ve always been a fighter. I’m here for the war fighters. This is personal and passionate for me,” he added.

Hegseth’s mother, Penelope Hegseth, appeared in Fox & friends Wednesday morning amid stories of her son’s alleged sexual misconduct, excessive drinking and financial mismanagement of veterans groups.

She said she appeared on the network “to set the record straight” regarding a 2018 email she wrote to her son in which she accused him of abusing women.

Penelope Hegseth began the interview by appealing to Trump not to drop her son as his nominee for defense secretary.

“Thank you for your belief in my son,” she said on Fox. “We all believe in him. We truly believe he is no longer the man he was seven years ago. I am not that mother and I hope that today people will hear that story and (the) truth of that story.”

She added: “I’m here to tell the truth – to tell the truth to the American people and to tell the truth to the senators on the Hill, especially the female senators.” I really hope you don’t rely on that Listen to the media, listen to Pete.”
