Tua Tagovailoa’s four turnovers devastated the Dolphins in a 20-12 loss to the Texans

The Texans allowed just 224 yards, forced four turnovers from Tua Tagovailoa that led to 10 points and sacked the Dolphins’ quarterback three times. The Texans also had a 35-yard run with a fake punt as their special teams and defense saved the offense.

Houston beat Miami 20-12 and put the Texans (9-5) in position to clinch the AFC South with a Colts loss to the Broncos. The Dolphins fell to 6-8, dealing a huge blow to their playoff hopes.

Two of Tagovailoa’s three interceptions came on the Dolphins at the Houston 39 and the Houston 20, and his fumble was at his own 47. The Texans scored 10 points on Tagovailoa’s errors. Tagovailoa also threw an interception that Derek Stingley stole with 1:44 left on a Tyreek Hill bomb, and the Dolphins had their last chance.

Tagovailoa had completed 184 passes before Sunday without throwing a pick.

Stingley had two picks and helped hold Tyreek Hill to two catches for 36 yards.

Tagovailoa went 24 of 40 for 196 yards with one touchdown and three picks.

The Texans had just 181 yards and their leading rusher was Dare Ogunbowale, who got 35 yards on a fake punt to the Miami 9. Nico Collins scored both of the Texans’ touchdowns but only had 17 yards on four catches.

CJ Stroud was 18 of 26 for 131 yards and two touchdowns.

The Dolphins gave themselves a chance after wide receiver Grant DuBose was stretchered off with a serious injury in the third quarter. DuBose is in stable condition at a local hospital in Houston.
