Two massive game reveals are rumored to be nominated for the Game Awards

A gaming insider recently revealed that there would be two big announcements The Game Awards tonight, and I think I have some ideas about what we will and won’t see. Jason Schreier – Author of Play Nice: The Rise, Fall and Future from Blizzard Entertainment – Recently published on The kinda funny podcast And teased two big reveals at the Game Awards. Schreier has since offered some insight into what fans should and shouldn’t expect from this announcement.

While I have my personal desires for what I’d like to see announced at the Game Awards – I’m always on the lookout for a new FromSoftware project – I think a few games are more suitable. While opinions are divided as to what these reveals will be or whether they will live up to the hype, I think we’ll probably see at least one of my predictions in some form at the Game Awards tonight. If not, then I hope that what Schreier alluded to surprises me in a positive way.

A possible Half-Life 3 announcement would be “big”

Rumors about Half-Life 3 are circulating again, but they are largely unfounded

Listen, I understand. Half-life 3 Rumors are something of a joke at this point in the gaming community. Rumors about this game have been circulating for years, and predictions surrounding its announcement have been about as reliable and as numerous as end-of-the-world predictions like Year 2000, 2012, etc. Still, rumors about it are circulating once again Half-life 3 will be announced soon and I think they might have some advantages this time.

Call me naive, but I feel like “Half-life 3 confirmed” joke is such a dead meme at this point Rumors about his announcement somehow seem more credible. While the source of the rumors was a random post Half-life 3 Rumors could be true. Maybe I’ll look silly later tonight, but there’s no denying that Half-life 3 The announcement would, as Schreier put it, make me say “holy shit.”

Naughty Dog’s next game could be on the table

Naughty Dog has been developing a new IP since 2020

Since these announcements are rumored to be aimed at PlayStation gamers, it seems possible that the announcement is related to Naughty Dog’s next game. Some have speculated that it could be related The Last of Us as several of the Game Awards presenters – Laura Bailey and Isabela Merced – are connected to the franchise. Personally, I don’t think that’s conclusive evidence to say much. Bailey has a lot of roles in video games under his belt and Merced will be there The Last of Us TV series, but was not part of the games.

Expansions, DLCs, remakes, seasonal content and remasters; an important part of the video game landscape; are eligible to participate in all award categories.

I think it’s more likely that Naughty Dog will present something related to them new IP that is supposedly an open world sci-fi game. Naughty Dog has reportedly been working on this since 2020, so it looks like things may be far enough along for at least a preview. A new IP from one of gaming’s most exciting developers would certainly befit a big announcement.

Todd Howard will host the Game Awards

A fantasy landscape with a crumbling castle, seen in the teaser trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6.

Another Game Awards host who has caused quite a stir is Bethesda’s Todd Howard. Although Howard is billed simply as presenting an award, his presence has sparked some speculation that he may be pulling double duty during the ceremony. If Howard is actually there to announce both a game and an award, it would (hopefully) be like that The Elder Scrolls 6.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was first teased back in 2018 during E3. Since then there has been radio silence about the game. With only a brief teaser showing off some of the game’s milestones, it feels like fans are overdue for a little more information on this.

To give Bethesda some peace of mind, 2018 was an awkward time to announce a big title like The Elder Scrolls 6. It only took two years for the Xbox Series then closures due to COVID-19 slowed game production, which likely led to a boost The Elder Scrolls 6 even further back.

With restrictions lifted and the current generation of gaming consoles in full swing, It seems like the perfect time for this The Elder Scrolls 6 to resurface. Bethesda’s last big game, Starfieldhas received a mixed response from players, so the company may want to get the momentum back in its favor with a big announcement. Full disclosure: This is the rumor I’m most excited about, so I might be a little biased, but I think there’s a chance it’s true.

PlayStation fans shouldn’t have high hopes for Bloodborne

Schreier confirmed he wasn’t talking about Bloodborne

When I first heard Schreier’s statements, I was excited that he might talk about them Bloodborne. The current PlayStation anniversary trailer ended with a clip from Bloodborne and the phrase “It’s about persistence.”

I tried not to get too excited about this potential joke, assuming I like a lot of them Bloodborne Fans – I simply put my tinfoil hat back on to find signs that one of my favorite games might be getting a sequel or perhaps a remastered PC version. Schreier’s comments once again got me excited about something Bloodborne-related, but again I was disappointed.

In general, Schreier seems to want players to temper their expectations. Personally, this makes me a little more confident in my predictions for TGA 2024.

Since his first interview, Schreier has made it clear that he hasn’t spoken about it Bloodborne. While it’s disappointing, I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. As for the announcement hype, Bloodborne has essentially become the new thing Half-life 3. Players hoping to return to Yarnham may have to accept that it won’t happen anytime soon.

In general, Schreier seems to want players to temper their expectations. In a post on a Resetera thread discussing his initial statements, Schreier urged players not to read too much into his statements, clarifying that the games in question are still years away. Personally, this makes me a little more confident in my predictions for TGA 2024.

Both Naughty Dog’s new IP and The Elder Scrolls 6 probably wouldn’t come anytime soon even if they were announced tonight. What Half-life 3I’m still not entirely convinced it will ever happen, but you can dream. However, we should find out soon enough The Game Awards It starts this evening.
