Tyreek Hill didn’t wait long to let everyone know that he was looking to leave the Miami Dolphins.

Just minutes after Miami’s season-ending loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, the All-Pro wide receiver told reporters he no longer wanted to play for the team that traded for him three seasons ago, handing him a record-breaking contract $120 million.

His words:

When Hill was asked directly if he was thinking about leaving Miami, he began to answer before walking away.

Apparently he stepped up his social media efforts and posted what definitely looked like a farewell message on X.

Hill is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career and easily his worst with the Dolphins. It was no coincidence that it was a tough year for the Dolphins, who missed the playoffs for the first time in head coach Mike McDaniel’s tenure despite significant injuries.

After amassing more than 1,700 yards receiving in his first two seasons in Miami, Hill failed to reach 1,000 yards, posting his worst yards-per-game mark since his rookie year with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hill is under contract for the next two seasons, with a cap hit of $27.7 million in 2025 and $51.9 million in 2026, per OverTheCap.

If the Dolphins actually make a trade, it would be the second controversial departure of Hill’s career. He famously asked the Chiefs for a trade after a contract extension fell through, jumping ship from a team that had won a Super Bowl two seasons earlier. The Chiefs obviously did well without him, winning two straight Super Bowls and posting a 15-2 record this season.

The Dolphins paid big money to acquire Hill, sending a first-round pick, a second-round pick, two fourth-round picks and a sixth-round pick to Kansas City just for the right to give Hill the $120 million deal give, which reset the deal wide receiver market. He seemed worth it as he was the most dangerous weapon in McDaniel’s high-powered offense, but now it’s hard to say what will happen next.
