UCLA WR, former Cal transfer J.Michael Sturdivant commits to Florida, Billy Napier

Former UCLA And Cal Recipient J. Michael Sturdivant has committed to transfer Floridasaid On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Sturdivant, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound redshirt junior, will be eligible to play with the Gators for one season.

Sturdivant is the No. 26-ranked transfer receiver in the 2025 class according to On3’s industry rankings and brings the necessary level of experience to a newly populated receiver room for rising second-year QB DJ Lagway.

Sturdivant, a former Cal transfer, has played in a total of 40 games, including 30 starts, over the course of his four-year college career on the West Coast. He also had a 26-game winning streak that stretched from his first week at Cal to the first week of last season at UCLA.

At UCLA, Sturdivant appeared in 24 games over the last two seasons, collecting 58 receptions for 912 yards and six touchdowns. He appeared in 11 games last season, recording 22 catches for 315 yards and two touchdowns. Sturdivant was the Bruins’ second-leading receiver in 2023, recording 36 receptions for 597 yards and four scores through the air.

Florida has lost 16 players to the transfer portal since it opened on Dec. 9, including defensive ends Kelby Collins And Jack Pyburn commit yourself Alabama And LSUor cornerback Ja’Keem Jackson commit yourself LSU and linebacker Deuce Spurlock commit yourself Freedom. Prior to Sturdivant’s signing, the Gators’ only transfer addition was Michigan player Tommy Doman.
