UK vs Louisville football result today: Channel for the Kentucky-UofL game

LEXINGTON – Louisville football will be played in Kentucky in the 30th edition of the Governor’s Cup.

Kentucky has held the trophy since 2017. The Cardinals almost took it back last year, holding a 24-14 lead over the Wildcats late in the third quarter. But UK outscored U of L 17-7 in the fourth quarter to maintain its winning streak.

The regular-season finale will be the final game of the year for the Wildcats, who will not be allowed to bowl for the first time since 2015. After using three quarterbacks over the course of the season, freshman Cutter Boley will make his first start in UK’s final contest of the year.

Louisville, which will play its fourth straight bowl game next month, enters the contest having won three of its last four games. The Cardinals earned a 31-27 win at Boston College and rebounded from a 38-35 loss at Stanford by defeating Pitt 37-9 in Week 13.

Cards running back Duke Watson rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown, extending U of L’s lead over UK to three points.

Two plays after U of L lost a down due to an illegal touching penalty, Brock Travelstead kicked a 20-yard field goal to extend the lead. The four-play, 22-yard drive began after an interception by U of L safety Tamarion McDonald.
