UK Wildcats News: Kentucky Basketball beats Colgate, moves on to Louisville

It wasn’t the prettiest win, but the Kentucky Wildcats earned a 78-67 win over Colgate last night.

Kentucky started strong, taking a 17-0 lead in the first six minutes of the game, but then let Colgate get back into the game and led by just two at halftime. Kentucky was actually behind at the start of the second half.

Nonetheless, Kentucky managed to get back into the swing of things later in the second half and claim an 11-point win, and with the game behind us, all eyes are on Saturday.

The rival Louisville Cardinals come to town for an exciting game.

Louisville picked up a win last night and ended a three-game losing streak by narrowly escaping UTEP with a score of 77-74.

Both Kentucky and Louisville have new head coaches, which adds even more excitement to the game. As a former player, Mark Pope knows how important this game is and Pat Kelsey knows how big this game is for the Louisville fan base.

There should be an exuberant atmosphere in the Rupp Arena on Saturday.
