Up to 24 inches of snow could reach the Colorado mountain range this weekend

The National Weather Service has released its snowfall forecast for the weekend and it looks like another storm is moving through.

While most of the state is not expected to receive more than a few storms, parts of Northern Colorado that recently received heavy snow in late December are expected to be hit hard again.

Between 5 a.m. Saturday morning and 5 p.m. Sunday evening, the most likely scenario is expected to see up to 18 inches of snow in the Park Range east of Steamboat Springs. If the high-end scenario (10% chance) occurs, up to 24 inches of snow could fall in this area.

Outside the Park Range, total elevations of up to 12 inches are expected on many peaks in the northwest quadrant of the state.
