UPDATE: Boy, cabin still missing after boat discovery: Mobile County Sheriff

UPDATE (3:20 p.m.): Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch gave an interview to local media Wednesday afternoon about the discovery of a missing boat.

According to Burch, the boat was about a mile offshore and had no cabin.

Burch said it was unknown if 7-year-old Hunter Slezak was in the boat’s cabin.

Searchers will continue their efforts to find Hunter through Wednesday evening.

Burch said they were concerned for the safety of all searchers if they went out Thursday because of the possibility of inclement weather.

MCSO and other agencies will be back on scene at sunrise tomorrow, but their capabilities may be limited.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – Officials have confirmed that the boat from which three people went missing Friday has been found.

UPDATE: Monroe County authorities are joining the search for Hunter Slezak on Dauphin Island

The search for 7-year-old Hunter Slezak and the boat has been ongoing since Friday, November 29th. Hunter was not found.

Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch said the boat’s cabin was not attached to the boat.

According to multiple law enforcement sources, Michael Slazek, Sam Wooley and Hunter all went shrimping on Wooley’s boat on Friday.

The U.S. Coast Guard was called around 7 p.m. Friday because the three had not returned from their earlier trip.

The bodies of Michael and Wooley were found Saturday along with some debris from the boat, but the boat and Hunter were not found.

Crews search for missing boater in Choctawhatchee Bay

The Coast Guard suspended its search on Sunday; However, multiple agencies, including the Mobile and Baldwin County Sheriff’s Offices, Daphne Search and Rescue and the United Cajun Navy, are continuing their search efforts.
