USPS customers across Missouri are experiencing delivery delays

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – USPS customers are reporting unusually long delivery delays.

USPS declined to speak on camera with KY3 about the reasons for this backup. KY3 received this statement from the USPS.

“Through the significant progress the Postal Service has made under its 10-year Delivering for America plan – a $40 billion investment to modernize and revitalize the organization – USPS is meeting the challenge of peak mail and package volume growth year with expanded processing capabilities, optimized transportation strategies, improved operational precision and employee engagement across the country,” said Mark Inglett of the USPS in an email to KY3.

KY3 received several emails, calls and Facebook posts regarding this issue. Hundreds of people in the Ozarks and elsewhere have spoken out about the issue. Customers we surveyed in the Ozarks said they understand that USPS is very busy this holiday season, but many still have not heard back from their local post offices.

Customers can track their packages at www.usps.com. You can request automatic updates via email or SMS until the package reaches its destination.

“We are happy to work to resolve any specific issue brought to our attention and encourage customers to contact us through our website USPS.com,” Inglett said. “Click “Contact” at the bottom of our homepage or use this direct web address: https://usps.force.com/emailus/s/. Customers can also request assistance via the official United States Postal Service X account @USPSHelp or a private message on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/USPS.

For holiday shipping information, visit the USPS Holiday Center online at Welcome | USPS.”
