Valkyries unveil uniforms for 2025 WNBA season with a nod to the Bay Area – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

It’s finally here – the Golden State Valkyries have unveiled their uniforms for the 2025 WNBA season.

A press release from the team on Thursday described the uniforms as representing the Valkyries, with references to Oakland, where the team’s training facility and front office are located, and the Chase Center in San Francisco, where the team will play its home games.

The uniform features the team’s logo highlighting the Bay Bridge, with the support cables reimagined as wings. Additionally, the five triangles formed within the “wings” represent the five players on the field at any one time, while the 13 lines extending from the tip of the sword, which doubles as a bridge tower, indicate that the Valkyries were the 13th century . have become an active team in the WNBA.

“The Valkyries inaugural uniforms are a visual interpretation of who the Valkyries are: fierce, brave and strong,” said Kimberly Veale, senior vice president of marketing and communications for the Valkyries. “When our athletes and fans don the Valkyries uniform during our inaugural season, they will embody this ethos.

“These uniforms represent another important milestone for the franchise as we prepare to welcome WNBA basketball to the Bay Area in 2025.”

As part of the WNBA structure, the Valkryies will wear two versions of their uniforms – one black and one white.

The uniforms feature Golden State’s founding partners, JPMorgan Chase and Kaiser Permanente.

The Valkyries, the WNBA affiliate of the seven-time NBA champion Golden State Warriors, were announced as the 13th WNBA franchise in October 2023.

They will play their first games in 2025.
