VCHA KG Lawsuit: Alleged Court Document ‘Reveals’ JYP Ent’s Shocking Abuse of Members, Leading to Self-Harm and Eating Disorders

Trigger Warning: This article contains descriptions of suicide, self-harm, and eating disorders.

VCHA’s KG recently announced that it has filed a lawsuit against JYP Entertainment to terminate its contract and part ways with the group. In her social media post, the singer revealed that the group suffered mistreatment from the agency, which even led them to extreme situations such as self-harm. Now the lawsuit document is available to the public and reveals the alleged abuse the members endured.

In this alleged document, KG claimed that she once found a member in an extreme situation trying to end his own life by consuming pills after being forced into a deep eating disorder. She also revealed that another member started self-harming after suffering mental anguish due to stress. The girl group member reportedly added that she herself was a victim of such abuse. She claimed she was once denied water until she got a dance move right, which led to her tearing her shoulder, and another time she was diagnosed with laryngitis. On both occasions she was reportedly forced to work despite doctor’s advice to rest.

On another point, KG spoke about how members, including herself, were often subjected to verbal abuse from staff. She claimed that a dance instructor once punished her in front of her bandmates, causing one member to collapse.

The shocking revelation of all was the security cameras. The alleged court document revealed that cameras were placed at various locations in their homes to monitor VCHA members’ food consumption so that they could follow the “diet,” which allegedly meant only eating salad and not real meals. However, according to KG, none of these cameras were set up with the group’s consent, rather the agency promised that there would be no surveillance at their residence.

Additionally, she revealed that she was only paid $500 per week. The agency exploited a tricky loophole and used its status as a “trainee” to avoid paying KG and the other members under California law.

JYP Entertainment also reportedly purchased a $2.5 million home, forcing the group to live there together, creating a massive “trainee debt” of $500,000 per head.

These revelations have left K-pop fans in a state of shock, who can’t help but criticize the agency. However, the company has not yet responded to this alleged lawsuit document.
