Pereira defeated Hill via first-round knockout at UFC 300 in April, but the two could face off again in the Octagon. Since then there has been bad blood between the two.

“Hill may have the opportunity to jump the line when he faces Jiří Procházka UFC 311 next month. An impressive performance, particularly a finish, could be enough to justify a rematch against Pereira.

“Tensions between Pereira and Hill have risen sharply since their UFC 300 clash. After Hill was caught yawning in response to Pereira’s finish at UFC 307, Pereira hit back by reminding Hill of her first round in the Octagon.”

However, it looks like the two may have admitted defeat in a potential rematch before cooler heads prevailed.

Pereira is the current UFC light heavyweight champion and former UFC middleweight titleholder. The 37-year-old is 12-2 lifetime and has three successful light heavyweight title defenses, including the aforementioned one against Hill.

Hill previously won the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship against Glover Teixeira in January 2023, but was forced to vacate the title due to a torn Achilles tendon he sustained in a basketball game.

It’s not clear who Pereira will face next, although UFC heavyweight titleholder Jon Jones has made it clear he wants a matchup.

Hill obviously wants to face Pereira in a rematch. First he fights against Jiří Procházka, the No. 2 contender in the light heavyweight division. Hill is No. 3, two spots behind Magomed Ankalaev at No. 1.

Pereira made a comment about Hill during their argument, indicating that he was open to seeing him again.

Hill didn’t respond kindly to the comments, citing the illegitimacy of Pereira’s recent victories, including the one against him.

We’ll see if the two face each other again at some point (at least in an Octagon instead of a gym). But first Hill has to beat Procházka to get that chance. That will take place on Saturday, January 18th at UFC 311 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
