Move over, Usain Bolt, because there might be a new fastest man in the world.

Australia’s rising star Gout Gout broke Bolt’s record for the fastest 200-meter time by a 16-year-old at the Australian All Schools Championships on Friday. He crossed the finish line in 20.04 seconds.

Bolt was the record holder for the fastest time by a 16-year-old in the 200 meters when he clocked 20.13 seconds at the 2003 Pan American Junior Championships.

When Bolt originally set the record, he was on his way to superstardom in the world of track and field. At the Junior World Championships last year he already had three medals to his name, including gold in the 200 meters.

Due to injuries, Bolt was unable to make a name for himself on the Olympic stage until 2008. He was part of the Jamaican team at the 2004 Games, but did not make it past the qualifying round after finishing fifth in his heat.

Gout is considered a key player at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics if he continues on his current path. He also ran the 100 meters in the event in 10.04 seconds, marking the fourth-best time ever for a runner under 18.

Nick Zaccardi of NBC Sports noted that Gout’s historic run at the Australian All Schools Championships met the starting standard of 20.16 seconds to qualify for the World Outdoor Athletics Championships to be held in Tokyo next September.

Gout won the silver medal in the 200 meters at the U20 World Championships in August. He finished in 20.60 seconds, which was his personal best in the event at the time.
