The Electric Reliability Council of Texas has issued a weather advisory through Jan. 10 as temperatures drop across the state.

As a winter storm system sweeps across the country, bringing heavy snow, ice and freezing temperatures, Texas is also feeling the effects of the Arctic blast.

Be prepared for slippery and dangerous roads on these days with temperatures in the high 20s to low 30s.

According to ERCOT, there will be higher demand for electricity this week. While ERCOT said it was prepared for the storm, local outages could occur in various counties.
