With a “Hey, Dwayne,” the long-running “Candy Ass” feud between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson is back in the news.

The Fast and Furious The franchise co-stars were both presenters at the Golden Globes on Jan. 5. Johnson fulfilled his duties at the start of the show. When Diesel later took the stage, he went off script by calling out his enemy to the audience. Diesel had a smile on his face and was aware that he was causing a stir.

The cameras awkwardly panned to Johnson, who smiled briefly, and the audience erupted as they took note of the long-standing drama between them.

These days the men seem to get along well – Johnson didn’t do any Will Smith or anything – but it’s been a journey…

2011: Diesel had portrayed Dominic Toretto for a long time F&F when Johnson joined the franchise as Luke Hobbs Quick five. The film became the highest-grossing film in the film canon, and Johnson is credited with breathing new life into an aging franchise.

Johnson made a deal for a Fast and Furious Spin offHobbs & Shaw, Tagging his social media announcement post “#CandyAssesNeedNotApply.”

As Franchise co-star Tyrese was upset about this Fast & Furious 9 Diesel faced pushback to make the spinoff possible and defended the decision in an Instagram post with a photo of him with Johnson in the franchise. He wrote about “brotherhood… and all its complexities” and said it was “unfair to say it was anyone’s fault” that the ninth film was delayed.

2018: Johnson revealed the feud with Rolling Stone. He confirmed that he and Diesel “did not appear in any scenes together.” F8, shoot around each other. He said their disagreement was about professionalism and revealed that they “had an important face-to-face conversation in my trailer. Diesel spoke to Men’s Health about the Johnson drama. He claimed the feud was something he started using to get a better performance out of Johnson, claiming: “It was difficult to embody the role of Hobbs. My approach at the time was a lot of tough love to help get that performance.” It had to be that as a producer we said, OK, we’ll take Dwayne Johnson, who’s associated with wrestling, and we’ll become that Film world, forcing viewers to view his character as someone they are attracted to I don’t know – I’m proud of that, Hobbs.
