Viral video shows United Airlines passenger violently attacking airplane seat

A shocking video of an airplane passenger violently attacking his chair in flight is going viral on social media. The viral clip, shared on Reddit, shows the passenger standing on his reclined seat and stomping on it repeatedly while fellow passengers look shocked. At one point he also tries to dismantle the seat by violently jumping on it. According to the New York PostThe incident occurred on November 16 aboard a United Airlines flight from Austin to Los Angeles.

According to the postHis fellow passenger Gino Galofaro filmed the wild incident. He told how he woke up due to the commotion and intervened to contain the disturbing person. He said that initially no one tried to intervene and stop the passenger from causing a disturbance. “The flight attendant came by a few times, no one did anything,” he recalled.

Then Mr. Galofaro stepped in to stop the senseless rampage. He said that he, along with two other passengers, “tied” the man’s hands and feet and “secured him to the seat with seat belts.” Upon arrival, the troublemaker was met by the police.

“Local law enforcement encountered United Flight 502 upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport after a customer became disruptive. “We thank our crew for their help in dealing with the situation and their work to ensure the safety of everyone on board,” said a United Airlines spokesperson. They added that they subsequently “banned” this customer from future United flights.

Mr Galofaro, on the other hand, said he hoped to contact the perpetrator’s family to see if he could offer help.

Meanwhile, users joked about the incident in the comments section. “Maybe there was just a really big spider on the headrest,” one user wrote jokingly. “DIY to improve seating comfort and quality,” joked another.
