“VPR” axes entire Season 12 cast after “Scandoval” drama bombshell

Raise your glasses high to the end of an era.

Bravo announced Tuesday that “Vanderpump Rules” is returning for Season 12 — but with a brand new cast.

The new show is introduced Lisa Vanderpump and a new group of “tight-knit SUR-verse who are just as intricately connected as their legendary predecessors.”

Production on Season 12 begins next year, but a premiere date and cast have yet to be announced.

“What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all again,” executive producer Alex Baskin said in a statement. “With great appreciation for the original group and their legendary run, we can’t wait for audiences to see a dynamic new group of colleagues and friends make their way through life together.”

Lala Kent responded to the news in a heartfelt post on social media.

“Where do I start,” Kent, 34, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday. “I was a young girl from Salt Lake City coming to LA. I introduced myself as Lauren, but because my childhood best friend called me Lala, my nickname quickly stuck.”

Speaking about his participation in the fourth season in 2015, Kent said: “Sur was a place that became his home.”

“Not only did I drink vodka sodas there, but I also stood behind a hostess stand…which to this day is the most intimidating job I’ve ever had. A short time later, I was offered the opportunity to be on a show called Vanderpump Rules. I have such mixed feelings at the moment. It’s no secret that I don’t like change. This is the exception. I want to thank you for rocking with us for so many years.”

The reality star added: “This show changed my whole life. I am incredibly grateful for every moment. I am incredibly grateful to Bravo, NBCU, our crew, the entire cast, and most of all, all of you. We rocked that bitch until the wheels fell off.”

Katie Maloney posted a picture of herself from the show’s early days and wrote: “It’s a mixed bag. But I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you for the memories and love over the last 11 years.”

Vanderpump, 64, confirmed the news in her own statement.

“The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary series filled with laughter, tears and everything in between,” the restaurant owner said Tuesday. “I can’t thank those who shared their lives enough. How I love you all. In the catering industry, one layer always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules.”

The news comes a day after Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz announced that their second restaurant, Schwartz & Sandy’s, would be closing its doors at the end of December after two years.

“Vanderpump Rules first debuted in 2013 and began as a spin-off of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The show originally followed Vanderpump and her then-coworkers at her restaurant SUR, which included Scheana Shay, Maloney, Tom Sandoval, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor and Stassi Schroeder, as they navigated professional and personal drama.

After a decade on air, the shocking news broke in March 2023 that Sandoval, 42, and Ariana Madix, 39, had split after ten years together due to his affair with James Kennedy’s ex-fiancée Rachel Leviss.

The affair, dubbed Scandoval, caused a split in the cast, with Madix refusing to film and Sandoval and other cast members upset by it.

Bravo then decided that Vanderpump Rules would take an extended break before filming season 12.
