Warriors 109-105 Suns (December 28, 2024) Game Recap

SAN FRANCISCO – Jonathan Kuminga scored 34 points and made free throws in the Golden State Warriors’ 109-105 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.

With the Warriors trailing, Kuminga was fouled after positioning Kevin Durant on an off-court play with 29 seconds left. Kuminga made both free throws to give Golden State the lead and set his career-high in points a day after scoring against the Clippers on Friday.

Durant, who led the Suns with 31 points, missed a shot at the other end, and Dennis Schroder made two free throws after the Suns committed a loose-ball foul on the rebound.

At halftime, Phoenix led 65-61. Stephen Curry, who had 22 points, beat the buzzer in the first half with a one-handed, off-balance floater over the 7-foot Oso Ighodaro after going behind the back and splitting two defenders apart.

The Suns were without Jusuf Nurkic, who was suspended for the first of three games for his role in Friday’s loss to the Mavericks. Royce O’Neale also left in the second quarter with a sprained left ankle.

Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski (abdominal strain) did not play in the second half.
