Warriors acquire LeBron James from Lakers in NBA-changing blockbuster trade offer

Every year the NBA season is full of drama and surprises. The league has become known for this and we see it happening like clockwork.

In a league where skill is paramount, there are bound to be some wild moments. One of the biggest stories surrounding the NBA recently centered around Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

James was out of the team due to a serious injury. But his excused absence, coupled with Los Angeles’ lack of success, has led to a lot of trade speculation.

The Golden State Warriors are the most frequently mentioned team when discussing a possible James transfer. The idea of LeBron James and Stephen Curry teaming up makes for great conversation.

Although an agreement between the two sides is unlikely, it could ultimately be reached, at least as far as salary is concerned. Due to the new CBA restrictions, both sides would have to be creative to get a deal done.

Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey suggested a blockbuster deal that would send James to Golden State on a trade. This is what the planned trade would look like:

Warriors receive: Forward LeBron James, forward Cam Reddish and guard Bronny James

Lakers received: Forward Andrew Wiggins, guard De’Anthony Melton, forward Jonathan Kuminga, guard Brandin Podziemski, forward Gui Santos, a top-1 protected first-round pick in 2025 and a top-3 protected first-round pick in 2027

This deal could be hugely beneficial for both sides, even if Los Angeles trades away LeBron. Golden State would get the star they were seeking alongside Curry and forward Draymond Green.

Adding LeBron for the next year or two could allow the Warriors to extend their championship window while giving fans a glimpse of entertaining basketball. Despite his age, LeBron was still strong and looked good on the floor.

The superstar has had some shooting issues this season but is still averaging 23.0 points per game. Adding him to the Golden State lineup might be unfair to the rest of the league.

As for the Lakers, they would get a nice consulting price for trading LeBron. Kuminga and Podziemski would help usher in the new era of Lakers basketball, while the additional draft picks could serve the team well in trade discussions.

Los Angeles would still have Anthony Davis on the roster and they could decide what to do next with him. Such a move could help set the Lakers up for longer-term success, making it at least an interesting idea to consider.
