Multiple videos and photos from surveillance footage have surfaced on social media showing a suspected gunman shooting at UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside the Hilton Hotel in midtown Manhattan.
Brian Thompson, 50, was shot outside the Hilton hotel at 1335 Avenue of the Americas shortly after 6:45 a.m. (local time) after arriving early for the company’s annual investor conference. A man wearing a mask approached him and shot him repeatedly, police said, according to CBS News.
The NYPD released a new photo of the hooded suspect standing in front of the counter at the Starbucks on W. 56th Street and 6th Avenue. The photo showed a man who appeared to be light-skinned, wearing a tan or cream jacket, a black face mask, black and white sneakers and a distinctive gray backpack.

Several videos are circulating on social media showing a gunman aiming at Thomson from a distance and shooting him twice, once in the back and once in the leg.

According to the NYPD, Tisch said the shooter fled toward Central Park on an e-bike.
The search for the murderer is underway. Authorities said the gun appeared to have malfunctioned, and the gunman cleared the jam before firing again and fleeing north into an alley between 54th and 55th streets.
The shooter then continued west on Avenue of the Americas, where he hopped on an electric Citi bike and rode north toward Central Park, CBS News reported.
Police said they recovered three live 9mm cartridges and three fired 9mm shell casings. The authorities also seized a cell phone. Authorities are also investigating the suspect’s place of origin.
