Matthew Stafford doesn’t start or run very often, but he has shown some agility a few times this season. The 36-year-old quarterback had arguably his best run of the season on Saturday night against the Cardinals, even if it wasn’t his longest.

After dropping back and being blitzed, Stafford scrambled up the middle, gave a defender a missed shot with about as good a juke as you’d expect from a QB his age, and found a seam for a 12- Yard pickup. It looked like he was headed toward the end zone for his first rushing touchdown since 2022, but he decided to slide and let his teammates finish the drive.

He’s no Kyler Murray, but his 12-yard run was longer than any rush Murray had had in the game up to that point.

Three plays after Stafford’s challenge, Kyren Williams got the Rams into the end zone for their first score of the game, running in from one yard out to give Los Angeles a 7-0 lead after the PAT.
