End of third quarter: Celtics 80, Thunder 76 | OKC narrows the deficit with a late push

Payton Pritchard had a chance to grab a loose ball with 34 seconds left, but Isaiah Joe got to it first.

The Thunder guard then charged up the floor and wrapped a pass around the body of Sam Hauser. It found Wiggins, who placed a shot that electrified the crowd at Paycom Center.

That completed OKC’s 7-0 run in just 84 seconds. It cut Boston’s lead to one point and made for a thrilling finish to the fourth quarter.

6:45 left in 3Q: Celtics 72, Thunder 64

OKC, without Chet Holmgren, is trying. That’s it really. But Shai is 24-7-4 on 17 shots and none of his fellow starters have reached double figures yet (Dort is 0 for 7). Boston has four starters with at least 11 points.

Halftime: Celtics 65, Thunder 55 | Boston dominates in the paint

All Jalen Williams could do was watch as a lob pass from Jayson Tatum sailed over his head with 1:47 left before halftime.

It fell perfectly into the hands of Kristaps Porzingis, who threw down a dunk and hung on the edge for good measure. It was a display of dominance from the big man from Boston, whose team couldn’t be contained.

The Celtics shot 17 for 25 (68%) from the field in the first half and scored 34 points in the game compared to the Thunder’s 20 points.

Aaron Wiggins still has the hot hand

Even on a cold winter day in Oklahoma City, Aaron Wiggins kept the hot hand.

After scoring 19 points in OKC’s 117-107 home win over New York on Friday, Wiggins made his second 3-pointer on Sunday with 9:12 left in the second quarter. He now has 10 points off the bench and the Thunder trail 43-41.

End of 1st quarter: Celtics 35, Thunder 32 | Jaylen Brown looks sharp in his return

As soon as Jaylen Brown collected the pass deep, he went into attack mode.

The Celtics guard only needed a spin move to get around Gilgeous-Alexander at the 4:08 mark, and despite a foul, he tied the game with a chip shot. That was one of 10 points in the first quarter for Brown, who looked good after missing the Celtics’ last two games with a shoulder injury.

Brown went 3-for-3 from the free throw line and Boston went 10-for-11 on free throws as a team (90.9%).

6:29 left in 1Q: Thunder 21, Celtics 15

Some fascinating things come from this Kristaps Porzingis duel. The Celtics are keeping him tied to Cason Wallace on one side. The Thunder traded Isaiah Hartenstein at the top and had most of the substitutions/mismatches with Porzingis on the other end.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander gets OKC off to a hot start

It took less than four minutes for MVP shouts to rain down on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The star guard earned it by scoring nine quick points for OKC, giving his team a 14-12 lead with 8:39 left in the first quarter. Gilgeous-Alexander went 3-for-3 from the field during this period and benefited from all three free throw attempts.
