Weather in southeastern Wisconsin: Traces of snow on Thursday

Light snow showers fell overnight, leaving the area before dawn. Not much snow has accumulated. Clouds will remain overhead today as high temperatures climb into the mid 30s. Cooler air sets in tonight as lows fall into the lower 20s.

Storm Team 4 is monitoring an Alberta Clipper moving through the Great Lakes tomorrow into early Friday. Scattered snow showers are expected throughout Thursday, with moderate snowfall possible. Most locations can expect 1 to 3 inches of snowfall. On Wednesday morning, the highest snowfall was recorded towards the north. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties, effective Thursday morning through Friday morning.

As soon as Friday arrives, expect an impact on the Thursday evening commute, as well as slippery stretches on the roads. The storm’s track is still shifting. Snow totals may be adjusted later this afternoon/evening.

Cooler and clearer conditions will set in over the weekend. The highs are in the 20s.
