“We’re checking that off our Christmas list”: Kelsea Ballerini and Kate Hudson perform “Santa Baby” in matching Santa clothes for “Christmas at the Opry”

Christmas at the Opry aired tonight, December 16th on NBC and the show was full of great guests and performances. The band, fronted by Little Big Town, also performed their new holiday album, The Christmas recordto celebrate the season.

During the show, Little Big Town members Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman took the Opry stage along with Kelsea Ballerini and Kate Hudson. Wearing Santa-inspired dresses and thigh-high boots, the four women performed a rendition of “Santa Baby,” made famous by Eartha Kitt.

In a preview clip on TikTok, fans left comments expressing their excitement for the performance. One person was thrilled to see Kate Hudson and Kelsea Ballerini on stage together, while others expressed surprise at Hudson’s singing. “How did I not know Kate Hudson could sing???” one person wrote.

Other fans even joked about their outfits, with one writing: “It gives Mean Girls vibes.” Another commented: “I told my kids this was Mean Girls 2,” while another fan wrote: “This is so awesome. “

Kate Hudson also took the Opry stage during the special broadcast to perform a cheerful rendition of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” She showed off her vocals with elaborate runs and belted out a few notes to challenge herself. It was worth it, though, because their take on the Christmas classic feels new and inspired.

Other appearances include Josh Groban along with Little Big Town and Dan + Shay with their new Christmas album It’s officially Christmas, Little Big Town performs her new album The Christmas recordalong with Sheryl Crow, Orville Peck and Kirk Franklin. Kelsea Ballerini also took the solo stage to perform “White Christmas.”

Previously, Little Big Town chose their own rendition of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” at the Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting. The group stunned with a joyful performance of the classic Christmas hit, which had fans expressing their love on social media. “This is absolutely amazing. It’s absolutely beautiful,” one person wrote. It seems that Little Big Town is in the Christmas spirit this year, celebrating one big celebration after another.
