What college football bowl games are there today? West Virginia vs. Memphis

Alright, college football fans. You can admit it. We’ll get you. Most of you are just waiting for the weekend when the truly meaningful postseason games take place in the Football Bowl Subdivision. But hey, non-playoff football is still better than no football, right?

Bowl season continues Tuesday night with a single game in the Lone Star State. Here’s a quick look at the participating teams, one of which suffered a mostly pleasant fall in 2024, while the other is now looking to the future and pointing to its past.

Frisco Bowl – No. 23 Memphis vs. West Virginia

Time/TV: 9 p.m. ET, ESPN

Why watch: The first-place team that takes the field in bowl season will seek a second win against power conference competition. The Tigers overcame an early setback against Navy to win six of their last seven, while the Mountaineers are in the midst of a leadership transition after an uneven Big 12 season. Offensive coordinator Chad Scott will coach WVU in the bowl game following the firing of Neal Brown. There will be at least one veteran at the helm in QB Garrett Greene, even if he’ll quickly forget his last outing, in which an interception and lost fumble helped Texas Tech en route to a 52-15 victory. Another high-octane offense awaits. Memphis scores over 35 points per game, led by the talented triumvirate of QB Seth Henigan, RB Mario Anderson Jr. and WR Roc Taylor.
