Wednesday, January 1st

1:00 p.m. – Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl (CFP Quarterfinals) (ESPN/ABC)
5 Texas vs. 4 Arizona State

Quick hit: Texas handily defeated ACC champion Clemson in the first round, and the Longhorns are once again favorites against the Sun Devils. While Texas has only lost to a team twice this season and has otherwise been relatively dominant, Arizona State lost 11-2 to unranked Texas Tech and Cincinnati earlier this year. Whether Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo Can rack-up yards will be critical.

5:00 p.m. – Rose Bowl Game Presented by Prudential (CFP Quarterfinals) (ESPN/ABC)
8 Ohio State against 1 Oregon

Quick hit: It’s a rematch of one of the best duels of the regular season. In its last game, Oregon defeated Ohio State 32-31 at the Ducks’ home stadium. The Ducks are the only undefeated team in college football at 13-0, but the Buckeyes turned in one of their most complete performances yet with their 42-17 first-round victory over Tennessee. Ryan Day seemingly put the only other blemish on his team’s schedule – a 13-10 loss to Michigan – behind him to pull off a thriller in the quarterfinals.

7 Notre Dame against 2 Georgia

Quick hit: Good luck picking winners between the Rose Bowl and this Sugar Bowl game. The Irish are coming off an impressive win against Indiana. Meanwhile, Georgia ran out of time to revel in its SEC championship win over Texas Carson Beck had UCL surgery at the end of the season. In his place Shooter Stockton has spent the better part of the last three weeks preparing for his first start for the Bulldogs. Stockton could do it in the second half of the conference championship against Texas, but can it do it for a full four quarters against Notre Dame’s pass defense?
