There’s a new meme making the rounds on TikTok and it’s all about the “Eye of Rah”…

The meme itself features a photo of TikToker Rashad Bowens (@lilbothemeilbotheme) – an aspiring boxer and reaction video poster – with his red dreadlocks, but the photo has been edited so that he has a single cyclops eye.

The edit was created by Jeremiah Springfield (@frightenedsheep25937582), who is best known for making similar edits that trip people up.

In a TikTok in which a man duet makes a cooking video of a man salting a cucumber, Rashad puts the clip together and tells the guy in a dry tone: “Ay, yo, chill the f*** out.” The The following clip of Rashad is then edited, showing a single eye in the center of his head.

The original video is from December 2022, but the edited version made the rounds back in November last year.

The Meaning of “Eye Of Rah”

The meme refers to the “Eye of Ra” symbol, which, according to Study.com, symbolizes “power, anger and violence” as Ra is the Egyptian sun god and the Eye of Ra symbolizes Ra’s daughter’s revenge on humanity.

This current meme is linked to last year’s “Curse of Ra” meme that made the rounds online.

As the meme grew in popularity over time, the edits became more surreal with fiery effects, lightning, and compositing edits.

Most recently, the “Eye of Rah” meme merged with other viral “Brain Rot” trends like “I Bought a Property in Egypt” and “Chopped Chin,” as one TikTok creator @.bob911_ combined all three in one video that featured It went viral with 2.4 million views.

Elsewhere, “What a strange thing to say that” was explained on TikTok and “I’ve played these games before,” the Squid Game meme explained.
