What the Seahawks said – 2024 Week 13: Seahawks at Jets

Okay, man, what a crazy game. I think this is the first time this has happened in the NFL. The whole series of events in the first half, but our boys were resilient and we didn’t flinch, we stayed the course. Some crazy things happened, but you have to stick to the plan, you have to stay together, and that’s what our guys did. Then of course it was great for us to be able to complete it. Obviously we really need to clean up a lot of things in all three phases. We have to protect the ball better and then definitely the shooting game. We’ll definitely review that and need to be able to convert the zone, you know, the low red zone on offense, but it was great to be able to close it out. In the end it was a great performance by our offensive team. We named Michael Dickson honorary player of the game because he wasn’t available to us because we had to go in the fourth game, but seriously, I mean, I just want to say officially, I don’t know how that works . But if we can nominate Leonard Williams as player of the week, he is simply playing at an absolutely elite level. You know, to have a Pick Six, I think they told me it would go about 17.5 miles an hour, which is pretty fast for a guy that size, so he’s going crazy right now.”

To If Dickson Be injured Is Why She went for It To Fourth and sixth And Quarter-and-1…

Yes, those were fun conversations in the headset.

To If He Was unable To punt The relax from The Game…

The plan was for him not to punt the rest of the game. Either J-My (Jason Myers) could have gone out and punted, or we could have tried and been one of the two.

To How large Leonard Williams’ choose six Was…

Well, I mean, it was a team game. Just getting to his milestone, getting one to play the ball, obviously, and then the rest. I can’t wait to watch it on tape, but it just felt like everyone was in the plus- Mode. We got some really critical blocks to kind of escort Leo in the end zone, so credit goes to everyone, but that was a great time in the game. Probably the gameplay.

To Julian Love Second and 10 play before To The choose six…

Oh, it was a great piece. I mean, the second, third, fourth down was, you know, we’re just talking about how we’re in a tough situation, right where we want to be on defense and these guys staying mentally, just by play being present to the game, but being able to see that play and do it was great. We weren’t able to create many thirds and long balls, so it was great to finally put them in that situation. At the beginning of the series we lost to convert, but you know, it’s the NFL, they have great players too and they made a play.

To debate have Jason Myers punt To fourth and sixth…

Yes, I thought about it, but it was one of those deals where it was best for us to do it.

To Michael Dickson’s Injury…

He has, what did they call it? I think we call it back spasms. So he’s in a good mood and stuff. I think it’s just a matter of us loosening it up. I’m not sure how this works.

To The Third and 26 play Where The Jets receive 24 Meter…

Well, it was a long play and I think our flat player ended up plastering one of his players and so the zone was kind of drained. We’ll look at it and make sure our roles are solid so we don’t get drained by zones etc on extended pitches, but I think that’s about it.

To Love Performance The Season…

Yeah, I mean both of them, Coby (Bryant) too, and then Rayshawn (Jenkins) comes in and plays at a high level and at our nickel-and-dime spot. Really, those three guys let us do a lot of things right now that most, you know, some defenses aren’t capable of. “Being able to play man-to-man, play all three areas of the zone, all three levels of defense, excuse me, and then be able to blitz so they can kind of do whatever our playbook tells us opens.”

To The generally News at Half time…

Yeah, it was just, hey, it was maybe the craziest first half ever and we’re down, you know, no matter how many points it was, five points or something, and so let’s just stay at the level and let’s go.

To If The start problems was basic Mistake…

Yeah, it seemed like every single part was just some kind of comedy. I’m talking about our kickoff, right? Yes, there were a few tackles here, and there were communication problems in another. We need to look at this and make sure we are on the same page and moving in the right direction.

To Be In First Location Now In The NFC West…

Well, we’re talking about December football and that’s when you want to play your best ball. I wouldn’t say this is our best game, but we won and that’s all that matters. So it’s about piling up those wins and you have to play a certain type of ball to win in December and that’s all you can ask for. is a chance to take it home along the way. So, we did it and off we go to Arizona.

To How often does A Nose tackle fall while A Game…

How often does a nose fall down? We just tell everyone, “Hey, you owe us two drops per game,” so you can hurry up the rest of the time.

To DK Metcalfs Injury…

He tweaked his knee and then did a bunch of tests and stuff. I think he’s fine now. We’ll see.

To Sataoa Laumeas Performance In be First Start…

You know, I think for the most part our offensive line ran the ball well in spurts. It seems more consistent. I think he may have started off a bit slow on a few tasks but then recovered and gave us a winning performance.

To Williams Performance The Season…

I mean, I just have a hard time believing anyone is playing better than him right now, so we’re picking Leonard over everyone else.

To Geno Smith’s bag To Quarter-and-1…

I think they coordinated the route well and made him hold the ball every now and then. You know, these are situations where it’s kind of, this sounds crazy, but in this situation it’s better to throw it away than to take a bag because the reason you’re trying is because you can’t get it if you don’t get it. I get the feeling position. But I give them a lot of credit, they played a great game.

To Smith’s Performance in total…

I mean, we won the game, he had the ball most of the time. He made some critical extended plays on fourth down that not many people on the planet can make, and then thought he handled the game well. We didn’t have to take any time off. I mean, these are the type of games, this is how he has to play for us to win. And that’s what he did.

To The happen To Jaxon Smith Njigba…

I think that was fourth place, right? I mean, it’s just a matter of everyone involved going into advanced game mode and then Gino giving him a ball to catch. I mean, it’s difficult for Jaxon to catch the ball and he did a great job of tracking it and catching it. It was a great time.

To redzone possession out of The Four-yard line And The Thought Proceedings behind It…

I don’t want to think about it any further, but we have to be better in these situations. We have to be able to implement these. So we look at how we plan the game, what we call it all, so we have to be more effective in those situations.

To How The defensive line Is play….

It’s a team, it’s a team pass rush, and now you have to be able to shut it down early in the game to get the quarterback to hold onto the ball in passing situations. I mean, I know Leonard is playing incredibly well at the moment, but I can think of a guy like Jarran Reed who is playing really good football for us. I think Byron (Murphy II) can play the A-gap and B-gap really well for us on early downs. Because of Leo’s position and because we also try to maximize his opportunities, he doesn’t get as many pass rush opportunities, but when he (Murphy) gets those opportunities, he’s done a great job. He has a damn good future. I don’t have a good feel for how the edge guys have been playing right now, but Boye (Mafe) and Derick Hall and Dre’Mont Jones, I think Dre’Mont has been playing really well lately, so those three guys mean I. I think there’s really good chemistry in this room at the moment and they’re excited about each other’s success and playing like that. It’s not them, we don’t play selfish football up front. We play smart, we play together and that’s what we need to win in the home stretch.

To take Advantages from Punish In The fourth Quarter…

Well, I mean, when the team gives you the opportunity to take advantage of breaks, you have to capitalize on it. I could speak for our team. I don’t know how many penalties we had. It didn’t feel like it was four or five penalties. So, our boys play clean football, which is good. We need that, but it’s good to take chances when we get them.
