The Rams’ path to winning the NFC West and a playoff spot in Week 17 was made a little more complicated by the Seahawks’ 6-3 victory over the Bears on Thursday Night Football.

Los Angeles needed a win over the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday and got it with a 13-9 win Saturday night at SoFi Stadium. It also got some of the help it needed for the Strength of Victory tiebreaker over Seattle when the Bengals beat the Broncos in overtime on Saturday.

Now, to win the NFC West in Week 17, the Rams will need help from at least three of five other teams playing this weekend.

The Rams need a win over the Cardinals on Saturday and also need to win the strength of victory tiebreaker against the Seahawks with four wins by one of these teams this week: Bengals, Commanders, Bills, 49ers, Vikings and Browns.

The Rams beat the Cardinals 13-9 to close it out, and the Bengals beat the Broncos in overtime.

So now it’s a matter of getting three wins from the Commanders, Bills, 49ers, Vikings and/or Browns – all of whom are playing at home this weekend, as is the Bengals.

Bills-Jets is on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. PT, Browns-Dolphins on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. PT, Vikings-Packers on Sunday at 1:25 p.m. PT.

The Commanders face the Falcons on Sunday Night Football and the 49ers face the Lions on Monday Night Football.

Hypothetically, if the first three games fail, the Rams could clinch victory as early as late Sunday afternoon or early Sunday evening.

Strength of Victory is the combined record of all opponents a team has beaten and serves as the fifth step in the NFL tiebreaking process between two teams. Since the record of defeated opponents can change over the course of the season, a team’s winning strength can also change.

The Rams’ current batting average is .444 with 68 wins:

In short, the Rams need more teams that beat them and the Seahawks don’t have to win, or the teams that beat the Seahawks and don’t have to lose the Rams.

The Bengals face the Broncos (1:30 p.m. PT Saturday, NFL Network). A win by the Bengals prevents a win by the Broncos from contributing to and thus improving the Seahawks’ winning strength.

The Commanders face the Falcons (5:20 p.m. PT Sunday, NBC). A Commanders win prevents a Falcons win from being added to the Seahawks’ win strength.

The Bills face the Jets (Sunday, 10 a.m. PT, CBS). A Bills win prevents a Jets win from being added to the winning strength of the Rams and Seahawks, which is still a positive for the Rams.

The 49ers face the Lions (Monday, 5:15 p.m. PT, ESPN). Similar to the Bills-Jets, preventing the 49ers from winning effectively negates the impact on the Rams and the Seahawks’ winning power, which is still a positive for the Rams.

The Vikings face the Packers (1:25 p.m. PT Sunday, FOX). A Vikings win increases the Rams’ winning ability.
