Yes, Cooper and Cohen will have a drink during CNN’s 2025 New Year’s broadcast. There was a brief pause on the topic of alcohol consumption during the 2023 telecast after Cohen made some controversial remarks on television.

When he co-hosted this year, the Bravo host said, “If you look behind me, you’ll see Ryan Seacrest’s Losers’ Squad performing. “I’m sorry, but if you watch ABC, you’re not watching anything.”

After the incident, CNN implemented a ban on alcohol on the show. “CNN said the correspondents wouldn’t drink,” Cohen confirmed to Rolling Stone at the time. “Anderson and I will be the people celebrating on CNN (although) we will be celebrating responsibly.”

The break was short-lived as alcohol officially returned to CNN’s New Year’s Eve celebration to welcome 2024. Now, heading into 2025, Cohen revealed that he has plans to drink and drink tequila all night long.

“I’m going to drink tequila. We usually do a shot every hour on the hour, and then I drink a Fresca Mix during the show,” he told Delish. “The truth is, if I wasn’t on TV, I don’t think I’d be doing a take an hour. But there’s something about the adrenaline. I have so much adrenaline in those four and a half/five hours that I’m standing there with Anderson. We have a lot to do. It’s almost as if the adrenaline is a small barrier to me actually becoming impaired. I can still host the show.”
