What we know so far about the cast, release and more

Oh, Mel and Jack finally found their happy ending, or did they?

The sixth season of the Netflix romantic drama “Virgin River” was released on Thursday and not only gave viewers a lot of emotions, but also ended in true series style with several cliffhangers.

The new season begins a few months after the Christmas-themed episodes of season five, as Virgin River comes together to celebrate the season’s most anticipated event: Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) wedding. Netflix promised that the season, set “against the backdrop of Mel and Jack’s romantic spring wedding season,” would be full of “fresh twists, escalating love triangles (and) delightful wedding drama.”

Annette O’Toole, who plays Virgin River Mayor Hope McRae on the series, told USA TODAY the season was “certainly the happiest and shortest (one).”

“It was nice to have a central event. The wedding is the culmination of the hopes and dreams of the entire city. We have a lot of problems along the way, but for the most part it’s a beautiful, positive and happy season,” O said. “Toole said.
