According to the foundation’s website, this year’s event will honor Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who completes his fourth and final term in May. Nirenberg will deliver remarks and lead the countdown to 2025, the website says.

Event parking fees apply in city parking lots and regular parking fees also apply.

Event attendees should note that road closures in some areas may impact the availability of paid parking.

“Given the expected large crowds, we will be suspending this program so there will be no free parking on New Year’s Eve. “The program will resume after the holidays,” said Kelly Saunders of the City of San Antonio’s Center City Development & Operations Department.

Tips

Visitors are strongly advised to arrive early to avoid disruption from traffic and construction. Consider using public transportation, rideshare services, taxis, bicycles, or walking.

Plan to leave early and consult a navigation app like Google Maps or Waze to find the best route to your destination.

For more information about parking and event-related activities, visit the city’s Know Before You Go Downtown website.

The city also began additional drainage work at the corner of South Alamo and East Nueva streets. The entire project extends from Cesar Chavez to Market Street. Due to construction in the area, there are upgraded pedestrian walkways.
