A fire at a kiosk in Manhattan’s Bryant Park Winter Village sparked a major emergency response Friday morning.

Heavy flames could be seen emanating from the Bryant Park Holiday Market around 9:30 a.m. on a Citizen app video

According to FDNY Battalion Chief Joe Castellano, firefighters arrived and discovered flames in a kiosk that was divided into areas for four companies. The FDNY said they were able to bring the fire under control by 10 a.m

Helicopter 4 was over the scene as firefighters could be seen spraying the area with water. Photos taken on site by an NBC New York team appear to show severe fire damage.

According to the FDNY, a nearby kiosk sustained minimal damage and the skating tent suffered minor heat damage.

The city’s emergency management department warned commuters to expect traffic delays and road closures in the area.

Winter Village stores were scheduled to open at 11 a.m. It is unclear whether the fire will impact today’s schedule. Stores are expected to close for the season on Jan. 5, but the ice skating rink and winter wonderland will remain open through March.

No injuries were reported in Friday’s fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The FDNY Fire Marshal is involved in the investigation.

The fire occurred about 10 days after a fire at the Herald Square Holiday Market damaged several stalls. The market was able to reopen, but the 18 vendors most affected by the fire will not be returning this holiday season, a spokesman said.

“I don’t think there was any connection at all, I just think we had two fires,” said Castellano of the FDNY.
