Here’s what you need to know:

The cold temperatures remain

We’ll stay dry for the rest of the week, but the cold weather will continue. The gusty winds of Wednesday and Thursday are finally easing as high pressure builds in the area on Friday. By Friday afternoon, temperatures will rise to 36 degrees, but still below the normal high of 42 degrees.

Light snow in the Philadelphia region Saturday morning

As the weekend begins, our dry days come to an end. Cloud cover will increase late Friday ahead of a weak system. The first isolated snow showers could begin before midnight.

This system is then expected to bring light, isolated snow showers to many of our neighborhoods early Saturday morning with temperatures around 20 degrees. Snowfall will be brief and minimal, tapering off by late Saturday morning. In the afternoon the sky clears.

How much snow will fall on Saturday?

Thanks to dry air and limited moisture, the amount of snowfall will be light – in most areas, snow depths will be half an inch or less. However, parts of Delaware and South Jersey that are closer to the system’s southern leg could see slightly stronger gains.

These are initial estimates, but all signs point to a minimal event far less severe than last Monday’s storm. There will be sunshine on Saturday afternoon, but it will remain cold, with highs around 30 degrees.

What is the prediction for the Eagles wild card game?

Sunday will remain clear and cold with high temperatures around 37 degrees. Temperatures will start with clear skies for the Eagles game at 4:30 p.m. and fall to the low 30s by the fourth quarter. Go birds
