As fans are aware, the series was renewed for a fifth season in April 2024 ahead of the conclusion of the fourth season. It was also announced that season five is now moving to Peacock. While fans were eagerly anticipating Elliot’s new journey, the series took an unpleasant turn.

In November 2024, Deadline reported that production on the series was paused. The reason for this was the exit of showrunner John Shiban and the return of the original showrunner of the series, Matt Olmstead. However, Olmstead made his comeback as executive producer instead of showrunner. Therefore, filming for the spin-off resumed, with Olmstead helping with the remaining scripts. The website also mentioned that most of the scripts for the fifth season were completed, while the production of the 10-episode installment was already halfway completed.

After that, there was no update on the fifth season of “Law & Order: Organized Crime.” Additionally, actress Danielle Moné Truitt, who plays the role of Sergeant Ayanna Bell, was bombarded with fan questions demanding the release date of the new episodes. So she went to her X to address the curiosity by saying, “I just wanted to say I don’t know when we’re premiering!!!!” So if you haven’t heard it, that means I haven’t heard it.
