What’s going on with Quantum Computing stocks on Monday? – Quantum Computing (NASDAQ:QUBT)

Quantum Computing, Inc. QUBT Shares are trading lower following new comments on the stock from Iceberg Research.

The details: In a report titled “$QUBT is already lagging in its new chip-making hype.” Iceberg research claims the company has been “chasing every possible hype in recent years,” with chip manufacturing being its most recent focus.

Quantum is trying to make thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) devices. Iceberg points out that TFLN is difficult to produce, making procurement challenging. The report notes that Quantum has not disclosed how it plans to address this issue.

In addition, Iceberg emphasizes that Quantum has already delayed production of the chips, which was originally scheduled for early 2024. Quantum now expects production to begin in the first quarter of 2025.

Finally, Iceberg questions Quantum’s expertise and ability to mass produce TFLN devices. The company points to Quantum’s lack of commercial success with patents and claims that Quantum’s foundry setup “looks more like a laboratory.”
