Granted, Tommy explains later in the episode that the company doesn’t typically try to save money by going cheap on family severance packages. So it seems that this strategy has something to do with whatever Rebecca and Monty are up to. It seems like they were trying to put Ariana down from the start, so it may not be the biggest loss for M-Tex. The problems with the cartel become far more threatening in the last two episodes.
