“Wheel of Fortune” participant “badly” missed out on the $100,000 jackpot – viewers react

A Wheel of Fortune The contestant could have won a whopping $100,000 on Tuesday’s (January 14) episode if it hadn’t been for a difficult bonus round puzzle that viewers described as “borderline impossible.” He also said something that made Ryan Seacrest laugh and could spark a family feud.

The attendee in question was Nick Isadori, a New York sports fan from Emerson, New Jersey. In fact, Isadori loves the New York Football Giants so much that he told host Ryan Seacrest that he lists them above his family and his breath in terms of priority.

“I think you need to look up the definition of ‘priority,'” Seacrest quipped.

Isadori competed against Barbie Swiger, a part-time church human resources employee from Overland Park, Kansas, and Dionne Dixon, a former Long Beach Poly Cowboys assistant coach from Spencer, North Carolina.

It was a hot start for Isadori, who solved the first two puzzles of the episode to take a strong early lead of $7,500. However, Dixon made a comeback in the mystery round when he solved the puzzle and took the lead with $15,050.

Isadori got back on track in the Express Round, solving another puzzle for $6,500 and winning a cruise. He also landed the first puzzle in the Triple Toss Up round, earning him a total of $25,000, enough to win the episode despite Swiger’s late game surge (she finished with $14,000, while Dixon finished with $15,050 -dollar ended).

At the start of the bonus round, Isadori chose the Place category and introduced Seacrest to his girlfriend and father, who were in the audience cheering him on.

“So who’s going on the cruise?” The American Idol asked the host.

Isadori looked over at his father and his girlfriend and said, “Well, they’re going to have to fight it out.”

“I don’t know if that was the right answer,” Seacrest replied, laughing at the answer that could start a family feud.

Faced with a two-word puzzle, Isadori chose the additional letters “C, P, G and A” to match the already given “R, S, T, L, N and E”. This gave him a puzzle board that read: “C _ _ _ / _ _ _ EA _ A _.”

As the ten second timer began, Isadori gritted his teeth and looked completely clueless as he studied the board. After time was up, Vanna White revealed the correct answer: “Comfortable Hideout.”

“I didn’t have a chance,” Isadori said when he saw the answer.

Seacrest then opened the prize envelope and revealed that Isadori had lost an additional $75,000, which would have brought his grand total to a whopping $100,000.

Viewers took to social media and many agreed that it was almost impossible to solve the final puzzle.

“There’s no way I could have predicted this,” one YouTube commenter wrote.

“That was borderline impossible,” said another.

“It was a difficult puzzle to solve,” another added.

Another wrote: “These final puzzles seem to have very few initials lately.”

“He’s right. He didn’t have a shot,” said one commentator.

“That was hard,” another added.
