When does the ball drop? How to watch New Year's Eve 2025 in your time zone

The New York City Ball Drop has been a tradition for over 100 years. The start of the new year is a blast for New York and the East Coast, but in the rest of the country people still have an hour, maybe three, until the new year.

So as you settle into the couch to enjoy the start of the new year, here’s how to enjoy the ball drop in the Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones.

How to watch the ball fall?

The annual Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest and CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen Both will air alongside the first ball drop in New York City. Keith Urban and Rachel Smith also host CBS Nashville’s Big Bash.

Is there a ball drop for Central Time?

CNN’s New Year’s Eve leaves Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen in New York and joins Sara Snider, Harry Enten and Cari Champion in Austin, Texas at 11:30 p.m. CT to celebrate the New Year.

Nashville’s Big Bash will also host a live ball drop in Nashville, Tennessee at midnight CT.

While the New York Ball remains suspended for the rest of the evening, you can watch the shows mentioned above.
