When will Spotify Wrapped 2024 be released? Everything about this year’s music review

Spotify Wrapped kicks off the holiday season with one of the greatest gifts of all for music lovers: a recap of their annual listening experience.

The music streaming app began publishing an annual summary in 2016 that is personally curated for each user. Since then, Spotify Wrapped has quickly gained traction and is now shared by hundreds of millions of fans on their social media profiles every year.

In recent years, Spotify has expanded its Wrapped to include personal messages from artists to fans and statistics about who the most streamed singers were that year, with Taylor Swift taking the top spot. He pushed Bad Bunny to No. 1 in 2023, ending his two-year winning streak (he was just behind at No. 2).

The streaming app also customizes the Wrapped experience annually with various new interactive elements. In 2023, this included finding out the listener’s aura and finding out which city in the world he heard the style of music most similar to.

Spotify also publishes Wrapped for artists, which shows their top songs, the number of minutes their music was streamed, and where in the world they were listened to the most.

The question of when Spotify will stop tracking a person’s listening data is controversial after an employee at the streamer said so Newsweek in 2021 that the meeting ends on October 31st.

“The reason we have this hard cut-off is purely in the interest of campaign logistics,” Brendan Codey, deputy director of creator growth and programs at Spotify, told the outlet.

“We need to QA the site and finalize the assets for Wrapped, all of which takes a while. If you include Thanksgiving, we have even less time,” he added.

This would mean that all November and December listening experiences would be excluded from the data, as the platform doesn’t start tracking for Wrapped again until January.

However, Spotify refuted this claim in a 2023 post
