When will Spotify Wrapped be released?

Every year around this time, Spotify tallies up the minutes you’ve spent listening, crunches the numbers, and reveals your true musical tastes.

Spotify Wrapped, as it’s called, takes all of your data from the last year and gives it back to you. This shows how many minutes you have listened to Spotify in total, which top tracks and artists you have played, which top genres you have listened to most, podcasts and more. It was released in 2016 and has been published since 2019 in a story-like format that makes it easy to share on social media.

The information Spotify shares has gotten bolder every year as users have defied fear and become more comfortable posting their Wrapped results online. There was an outcry last year when Spotify paired listeners with a city based on her playlists, and encouraged thousands of people to do the same Moved to Burlington, Vt.

What day does Spotify Wrapped come out?

There’s no reason to be outraged or ashamed yet, as Spotify hasn’t released Wrapped yet, nor has it told us when it will appear on our phones. The only clue we have at the moment is Spotify’s social media post from November 27th, which states that we can expect the release of Wrapped “soon.” In the past it was released between November 29th and December 6th. So if Spotify sticks to the same release window this year, it should be out any day now.

How to find your Spotify package

When Spotify Wrapped comes out, it will appear when you open the app on your phone. However, this may not be the case if you are using an outdated version of the software. To ensure you receive your annual summary on time, go to either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, search for Spotify and tap Update.

In the meantime, if you want to relive the ghosts of Spotify Wrapped past, you can type the year you’re looking for and “wrapped” into Spotify’s search box. You won’t get a breakdown of your listening habits, but you will get a playlist of your top 100 songs from each year.

About Chandra Steele

Senior features writer

Chandra Steele

My title is “Senior Features Writer,” which is a license to write about absolutely anything if I can relate it to the technology (I can). I’ve been with PCMag since 2011 and have covered the surveillance state, vaccine passports, ghost guns, elections, ISIS, art, fashion, film, design, gender bias and more. You may have seen me on TV talking about these topics, or heard me on the radio or on a podcast on the way home. Or maybe you just saw my Bernie meme.

I strive to explain topics that you come across in the news but don’t fully understand, such as NFTs and meme stocks. I had the pleasure of speaking about technology with Jeff Goldblum, Ang Lee, and other celebrities who brought a different perspective. I make a point of writing gift guides and am always touched by the notes I get from people who have used them to choose gifts that were well received. Although I love writing about the tech industry every day, it is affected by gender, racial and socioeconomic inequalities and I try to bring these issues to light.

Outside of PCMag, I write fiction, poetry, humor, and essays about culture.
