When is Santa Claus coming to Watertown?

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) organization has a website and app specifically dedicated to tracking Santa’s flight, a tradition first started in 1955. However, the timing of Santa’s visit to Watertown will not be announced until Christmas Eve. The website provides a few details in advance about his and his reindeer’s route.

According to NORAD’s website, Santa usually flies west and his visit usually occurs between 9 p.m. and midnight. However, the website will launch its tracker on the night of Christmas Eve.

“NORAD is coordinating with Santa’s Elf Launch Staff to confirm its launch time,” the website says. “But from then on, Santa Claus is in charge. We’ll just go after him!”

Children can also call NORAD at +1 (877) HI-NORAD for updates on Santa’s location, and the organization will post its tracker on its social media pages.

The Santa Tracker website offers games, virtual crafts, and short lessons and videos about Santa Claus and the history of the holiday.

According to Google’s website, Santa’s journey will last 25 hours and his first stop will be in the Russian Far East at 10 p.m. local time.

Versions for both websites are also available as mobile apps in the App Store and Google Play.
