When will “What If” Season 3, Episode 1 be released on Disney+ and how many episodes will there be?

The final season of the animated series What if…? The series premieres on Disney+ on December 22, 2024, ending the popular MCU multiverse saga show. What if…?’s The first two seasons premiered in 2021 and 2023, respectively, and introduced Jeffrey Wright to the MCU as the voice of the Watcher, a cosmic being who tells stories from alternate realities across the multiverse. Marvel Animation began work What if…? Season 3 in July 2022 and later confirmed that the upcoming season would take place What if…?’s Last hurray.

What if…? has already introduced viewers to a number of interesting and fantastical variants, including Captain Carter, T’Challa’s Star-Lord, Nova Corpsman Nebula and the morally questionable Strange Supreme. What if…? However, the third season’s cast includes some of the strangest and most exciting additions, giving the series a bang. What if…? What if…? Season 3 will premiere on Disney+ on Sunday, December 22, 2024, with episode 1 arriving on the streaming service at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT. The upcoming season will follow in the footsteps of What if…? Season 2 by releasing one episode per day for eight days over the holidays. What if…? Season 3 will come to an end on December 29, 2024 with an epic finale, leaving the future of the Guardian and several others What if…?’s best options uncertain.

Both What if…? However, seasons 1 and 2 comprised nine episodes What if…? Season 3 is the shortest chapter of the series, as eight episodes will only be released once a day during the 2024 holiday season. Despite having the least number of episodes, What if…? Season 3 appears to be gearing up to explore the wilder and crazier universes in the MCU’s multiverse, rather than sticking more closely to the MCU’s own narrative as previous seasons have done. This is a very exciting episode list for the final season of What if…?. This season, There’s only one clear example of an MCU plot change, as Episode 5 will twist the ending of 2021 Eternal. Other than that, every story is in What if…? Season 3 will be completely new and original for the animated series, giving Marvel Studios a wealth of opportunities to really experiment. There is speculation that characters from What if…? could be further explored in the MCU’s live-action future What if…? Season 3 may not really be the end.
