The Oklahoma City Thunder earned a 101-93 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 36 points and hit the dagger with a 3-pointer in the final moments.

The Thunder are now 2-1 in the West’s Group B standings. They had three group games spread over the rest of November and early December.

All six group winners and two overall contenders will compete in an eight-team knockout tournament to determine the 2024 NBA Cup winner. The final four travel to Las Vegas to play the semi-finals and finals.

West’s Group B rankings

• 1. San Antonio Spurs 2-1 – 0 GB – plus 14 points difference

• 2. Oklahoma City Thunder 2:1 – 0 GB – plus 18 points difference

• 3. Phoenix Suns 2-1 – 0 GB – plus 19 points difference

• 2. Los Angeles Lakers 2-2 – 0.5 GB – minus 24 points difference

• 5. Utah Jazz 0-1 – 2 GB – minus 27 points difference

The Thunder will conclude their Group B schedule with a home game against the Jazz on December 3rd. It should be an easy win with OKC improving their chances of advancing to the quarterfinals.
