Where is Jim Cantore? Weather Channel in Nashville ahead of the winter storm

Whether it’s hurricanes, brutal tropical storms or, in this case, massive amounts of snow in parts of the South, people start playing the game: “Where in the United States is Jim Cantore?”

For some it’s a fun game, for others it’s a warning sign to leave town when Cantore comes by. And just before the expected winter storm to hit the South, the longtime Weather Channel meteorologist was spotted not in Texas, but in downtown Nashville.

The post, originally posted by Weather Channel producer Steve Petyerak, shared the news that Cantore was in town. And people are now expecting the worst.

“Wow, if there was anything left on grocery store shelves it would be gone, now @JimCantore is in town. We all know what it means when he picks his spot for a weather event,” one person wrote.

Another user had two words that summed up the discovery well: “Oh man.”

Winter storm warnings, watches for Tennessee communities

Cantore’s observation highlights how bad this storm could be, especially for communities that aren’t used to seeing more than an inch or two of snow at any given time.

On Thursday morning, the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for communities in western and middle Tennessee, including the Nashville and Memphis metropolitan areas.
