All five living current and former presidents were present, but only four first ladies. Former First Lady Michelle Obama was not with her husband, former President Barack Obama, at the ceremony.

Former President Barack Obama entered the cathedral along with other former presidents, but was not accompanied by former first lady Michelle Obama.

Journalist Jeff Zeleny told CNN that the former first lady had scheduling conflicts. “Her advisors have told me she has scheduling conflicts.” He continued, “She’s still in Hawaii.”

She most likely would have sat next to her husband, next to former First Lady Laura Bush.
